Tomorrow I will begin what is a HUGE undertaking
for me. I'm going to post one blog each of the 40 days leading up to my 40th
birthday on topics given to me by friends, with a few of my own topics thrown
in. The topics include a few humorous anecdotes and a few serious and
introspective contemplations on life past, present and future.
For those of you unfamiliar with my blog, I
"generally" change the names of the individuals I write about (in
rare cases, I will use the real names of the individuals, and usually with
their permission) and I write the blog under my pseudonym, r. keller thomas
(all lower case). I have a format to each post...I discourse on my particular
topic and then I make a confession based on the topic at hand.
Here's my confession: Unlike many of my
contemporaries who are (or have already) trudged towards their 40th birthday
with a sense dread, preferring that the day just pass by unnoticed, I am
actually very excited about the beginning of new decade of life. I have, to
this point, had a good life. I have great people in my life, near and far.
One of my favorite quotes communicates this quite nicely: “Life is either a daring adventure, or
nothing at all.” –Helen Keller. My life has been good, and I can only believe
that there is more ahead.
I hope that you will follow the blog, that you will
learn something new about me, will come to think of things in a different
light, or that the blog will have some other positive effect on you. I love
comments, and I hope to see your feedback! Thanks in advance for setting sail
with me on this daring adventure.
